Payment gateway and API

Crypto payment gateway development with invoicing and webhooks

We build merchant payment flows that create invoices, watch the chain for payments and notify your system through signed webhooks, on the chains and tokens you choose.

What is a crypto payment gateway?

A crypto payment gateway lets a merchant accept crypto the way a card processor lets them accept cards. The merchant requests a payment through an API, the customer pays on-chain, and the gateway tells the merchant when the payment is confirmed.

Crypto payment gateway development means building that whole loop: the API, the invoice logic, the chain watchers, the merchant dashboard and the webhook delivery that connects it to a store or application.

What does the build include?

  • Merchant API: create invoices, fetch status, issue refunds and manage API keys, with documentation for developers.
  • Address generation: a fresh deposit address or memo per invoice, so each payment can be matched to an order.
  • Chain watchers: services that read blocks, count confirmations and handle edge cases such as underpayment, overpayment and late payment.
  • Signed webhooks: events with a signature, retries and a delivery log, so the merchant system can trust and replay them.
  • Merchant dashboard: invoice list, exports, team access and settings.

Plugins for common store platforms can be scoped as an extra item.

How do funds move and who holds them?

This is the decision that shapes the legal and security profile of the product. In a non-custodial design, payments go directly to the merchant wallet and the gateway only watches the chain. In a custodial design, payments land in wallets the gateway controls and are settled later, which means holding funds for others and carries heavier regulation.

We will lay out both options, build the one you choose, and write down who can move funds and under what approvals. For wallet infrastructure, see wallet development.

A payment gateway is usually scoped individually, because the chains, tokens, settlement model and dashboard depth change the work a great deal. We do not have a fixed gateway package, so we give you a price range in writing once we understand the scope. Our typical packages for wallet, DEX and exchange builds are listed on the pricing page.

You receive a written quote after a scoping conversation, and payment follows milestones. See pricing and packages for typical ranges and what moves them.

What are the limits and risks?

Accepting and settling crypto for merchants can require money transmission or virtual asset service provider licences, KYC and AML checks and sanctions screening, depending on where you operate and whether you hold funds. We build software, we do not give legal advice, and you are responsible for licences and compliance.

Chains can reorganize, tokens can be paused by issuers and prices move, so the design handles confirmations and exchange rate windows carefully, but no gateway removes those risks.

How it works

  1. Tell us what you want to build

A wallet, exchange, contract, bot or payment flow, and the chains involved.

  2. We scope and quote

You get an architecture outline, a timeline and a written price range.

  3. We build in milestones

Working builds are shared at each milestone, with a security review before launch.

Questions about crypto software agency in United States

Which coins and chains can the gateway accept?

We can support native coins and stablecoins on EVM chains, Solana and TON. Each additional chain or token adds its own watcher, confirmation rules and testing, so the list you choose affects price and timeline. We recommend starting with the few your customers actually use.

How do webhooks work in a crypto payment flow?

When the chain watcher sees a payment reach the confirmation count you set, the gateway sends a signed HTTP request to your server with the invoice and status. If your server is down, the gateway retries on a schedule, and every attempt is logged so you can replay events. Your server should treat each event as possibly repeated and check the signature before acting on it.

Can customers get refunds?

Yes, as a managed flow. A merchant requests a refund in the dashboard or API, and the system sends funds back to an address the customer provides, subject to the approvals you define. On-chain payments are final, so refunds are new transactions, not reversals.

Do you handle fiat conversion?

We can integrate third-party exchange or off-ramp services through their APIs where the provider allows it. The conversion service and its terms belong to that provider, and some arrangements need licences or approvals on your side. We build the integration, and you agree the commercial terms and the compliance steps with the provider directly.

Who owns the gateway code and data?

You do. The code, databases, cloud accounts and API keys you pay for belong to you. We sign an NDA on request and hand over documentation at the final milestone, covering the API, the database layout, the chain watcher settings and how to deploy and monitor each part of the system.
